Sphere Candle Experience
A round, softly shaped sphere candle. Layer colors inspired by Miyakojima's sea and sunsets to create a gradient that is yours alone.
The Sphere Candle uses a special mold to build up colors in layers, creating a gradient inside a round candle. Whether it is the shift from the Miyakojima sea up into the sky or warm tones like a sunset, the colors you choose become the world of the piece. Blurring the boundaries or keeping them crisp changes the impression a great deal, and the round shape lets light pass through beautifully. Since the experience is more about choosing colors than technique, it is an easy menu even for first-time candle makers.

Sphere Candle Experience: Step by Step (About 90 min in total)
Plan your colorsAbout 20 min
Decide which colors to use and in what order. We start by putting the world you want to create into words together with our staff: a gradient from sea to sky, a sunset, the flowers of Miyakojima. More colors mean finer layers; fewer colors make the contrast stand out.
Pour the first layerAbout 15 min
Pour the first color into the sphere mold. Beautiful layers depend on how far the previous layer has set before the next is poured, so our staff will tell you when the timing is right.
Build layers into a gradientAbout 35 min
The heart of the experience. Add colors little by little, blurring some boundaries and keeping others crisp, to build a gradient that is yours alone. Tilting the mold while pouring sets the layers at an angle for a livelier look.
Remove from the mold and finishAbout 20 min
Once set, the candle comes out of the mold and the seam on the surface is smoothed into a clean sphere. Adjust the wick position and it is done.

Sphere Candle Experience FAQ
- Q. How many colors can I use in the gradient?
- A. There is no strict limit on the number of layers, but within the 90-minute session, keeping to around 3 to 5 colors makes each layer easier to bring out cleanly. Using fewer colors gives crisper boundaries and stronger contrast.
- Q. What is the difference between the Sphere Candle and the Sphere Candle (Big)?
- A. The size of the mold. The Sphere Candle (JPY 3,500) fits in the palm of your hand, while the Sphere Candle (Big) (JPY 5,000) is extra-large, and because it holds more layers it gives you more freedom in the design. Both take about 90 minutes.
- Q. Do results differ from person to person even with the same colors?
- A. Yes, a great deal. The timing of each pour and the angle of the mold change how the layers form, so even the exact same colors never produce the same candle twice. That is the most enjoyable part of this experience.
