How long does the experience take?

The candle-making experience takes about 90 minutes. Take your time and enjoy making your original candle.

From what age can children take part?

Children aged 6 and up can take part. Children under 6 are welcome too when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children of junior high school age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

When can I take my candle home?

Accepted Answer

Candles take about 3 hours to fully set. After the experience you can go out sightseeing and pick up your candle at the shop later the same day. We can also hold it for pickup on a later day or ship it to your home (shipping at your expense), so choose whatever suits your travel plans.

Do I need to bring anything?

Aprons are lent free of charge, so just come as you are. We recommend wearing clothes you do not mind getting dirty.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment is made on the day at the shop, by cash or credit card. We do not accept QR code payments.

The experience price includes all materials, use of tools and apron rental. The only extra charges are for any options you choose.

Yes, couples and families are very welcome! Choose colors and shapes together and make a candle that becomes a memory of your Miyakojima trip. Children aged 6 and up can take part, and children under 6 are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children of junior high school age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Can I still enjoy it on a rainy day in Miyakojima?

Yes! iepoyo candle is a fully indoor studio, so you can make candles even when it rains. The room is air-conditioned and there is nothing to bring. Our opening status may change when a typhoon or heavy rain makes travel unsafe, so please check with us on our official LINE account for the latest information.

Can a beginner make a nice candle?

Yes, first-timers are very welcome! From choosing the shape and colors onward, our staff guide you carefully through each step. If you are unsure about color combinations, we will ask about your preferences and work it out together.

Do you offer anything besides candles?

We also offer iepoyo shisa, a Shisa-making experience where you shape the face from clay and paint it. It costs JPY 3,000 per person, per piece, and takes About 90 min. See the Shisa making page for details.
