For the candle-making experience, please contact us by 17:00 on the day before your experience. Cancelling on the day or without contacting us costs 100% of the fee. For the shisa-making experience, cancelling the day before costs 50% of the fee, and cancelling on the day or not showing up costs 100%. If we cancel an experience for safety reasons such as a typhoon or disaster, no cancellation fee applies.

The candle-making experience takes about 90 minutes, and the Shisa-making experience takes about 2 hours. Either way, take your time and enjoy making a piece that is yours alone.

For the candle-making experience, children aged 6 and up can take part, and the Shisa-making experience is for ages 5 and up. For the candle-making experience, children aged 5 and under must be accompanied and supported by a parent or guardian for safety; for the Shisa-making experience, the same applies to children aged 4 and under.

Candles take about 3 hours to fully set. After the experience you can go out sightseeing and pick up your candle at the shop later the same day. We can also hold it for pickup on a later day or ship it to your home (shipping at your expense), so choose whatever suits your travel plans.

Aprons are lent free of charge, so just come as you are. We recommend wearing clothes you do not mind getting dirty.

Payment is made on the day at the shop, by cash or credit card. We do not accept QR code payments.

The experience price includes all materials, use of tools and apron rental. The only extra charges are for any options you choose.

Yes, couples and families are very welcome! The candle-making experience welcomes groups of 1 to 5, and the Shisa-making experience welcomes 1 to 6 people. Choose colors and shapes together and make a candle that becomes a memory of your Miyakojima trip. The candle-making experience is for ages 6 and up and the Shisa-making experience is for ages 5 and up. Younger children must be accompanied and supported by a parent or guardian for safety.

Yes! iepoyo candle is a fully indoor studio, so you can make candles even when it rains. The room is air-conditioned and there is nothing to bring. Our opening status may change when a typhoon or heavy rain makes travel unsafe, so please check with us on our official LINE account for the latest information.

Yes, first-timers are very welcome! From choosing the shape and colors onward, our staff guide you carefully through each step. If you are unsure about color combinations, we will ask about your preferences and work it out together.

We also offer iepoyo shisa, a Shisa-making experience where you shape the face from clay and paint it. It costs JPY 3,000 per person, per piece, and takes about 2 hours. See the Shisa making page for details.

Absolutely! Chat while you make your pieces, compare your finished candles, and enjoy time that becomes a memory of your Miyakojima trip. Groups of 1 to 5 are welcome.
