Make a Shisa in Miyakojima, a guardian that is yours alone
The Shisa you see on rooftops and at doorways is Okinawa's guardian lion-dog, protecting families from harm. In the iepoyo shisa experience, you make that guardian with your own hands, in soft pastel colors.

How Shisa Making Works
There are no difficult steps. Our staff are right beside you, so take it at your own pace.
01ClayShape the face
We prepare the molded lower body. You shape the face from clay. The mane and the expression are entirely up to you.
02PaintPaint the colors
Paint it freely. Blues like the Miyako sea and soft pastel colors both suit it beautifully.
03About 15 minBake in the oven
It bakes in the oven for about 15 minutes. While it bakes, you are free to relax in the shop or head out.
04Take homeAll done
Once baked, your one-of-a-kind guardian is finished and ready to take home the same day.
They all start from the same mold, yet every face turns out different.
Yours will be the only one in the world.
